France has offered to supply the Lebanese Army with weapons beyond the Saudi-funded $3 billion arms deal if it is exposed to any danger from Syria-based jihadis on the northeastern border, according to French sources.France is ready to equip the Lebanese Army with any weapons it demands from outside the framework of the $3 billion Saudi grant if it is forced to fight border battles with Islamist militants, the sources said.The Saudi grant still exists and France and Saudi Arabia are implementing the agreement to equip the Lebanese Army with arms, and there has been no change or freezing of the phases agreed upon in the tristate contract signed by Saudi Arabia, France and Lebanon, the sources said.
