Hundreds of Free Patriotic Movement supporters from across Lebanon gathered near the Presidential Palace Sunday to commemorate 26 years since the War of Liberation.FPM party founder Michel Aoun was sent into exile after losing the battle with the Syrian army.The march along the road leading to the Baabda Presidential Palace- often referred to as House of the People by FPM officials- symbolizes the party's hopes of Aoun reaching the presidency as well as remembering the bloody 1990 events with Syria's army.The FPM considers that Aoun being elected as president would mean that the voice of the majority of Christians in Lebanon will have been heard, as the party claims to represent most of the country's Christians.
