A development project announced last week will see Beirut's Corniche outfitted with new bike lanes, greenery and more, Beirut Mayor Jamal Itani told The Daily Star. The Beirut Municipal Council announced the project for the Ain al-Mreisseh Corniche on Instagram Wednesday, saying that work would begin later this year.The existing area will be only partially closed during construction, Itani said, and jogging lanes will remain open.According to Itani, the project will be environmentally friendly and sustainable.
